Eufaula Dam, which is about an hour and a half from our hometown of Bixby, Oklahoma, is a dam across the Canadian River in Oklahoma. It was completed in 1964, and impounds Eufaula Lake, one of the world’s largest man-made lakes, which is a huge 102,500 acres large. The dam serves to provide flood control, water supply, navigation and hydroelectric power generation, but is also a place where outdoor lovers go to enjoy fishing, hiking, water sports and – of course – ATV/UTV riding!!
Rentals of all-terrain vehicles are available at Lake Eufaula (find out how at travelok.com), or bring your own DRX2 or DRX4 and let the adventures begin! The area has 450 acres of off-road trails, taking you over terrain such as rolling sand dunes, wooded areas and Canadian River Valley sand. Access to the trails is from Highway 71 at the Dam. If you have time, take a pause at many locations along your ride to enjoy the area’s wildlife.
